spoke gentle in her caring way

caressed His cheek and hugged Him there

and quietly left till another day

revisited from time to time

and learned His thoughts and frame of mind

tho hesitant she came yet back

and tolerated when He lack

and slowly as her caution was

began in Him to love -- because

and tho to her He spake himself

revealing Heart and Mind -- their wealth

she stayed therewith among the loved

for her own Heart had yet been moved

Aye ... as had His ---she knew that well
